life happens

It has been a long time since I have posted. A lot of life has happened.

Covid:  Wow what a game changer that was and still is to some degree. Everyone waiting for the next shoe to fall.

We sold the house in France during covid. We could not go there and there was no one to come to open the house and let air in. We feared the house giving in to the damp.  Oftentimes we are sad for the loss. There were a lot of wonderful times had there. So many memories.

I had a stroke 9 years ago. I remember the years because my beautiful, red haired great-grandson was born in Sept. while I was still in the hospital. That stroke morphed into a gene mutation that caused blood cancer. I am able to take chemo daily to keep it in check so to speak.

Now back to that great-grandson. He is now fierce big brother to Oakleigh, his 4 year old sister. (also beautiful red hair)  They are a joy in my old age.

In January I lost my baby sister to Leukemia. A sudden and unexpected thing. We went on a cruise in late October and when we returned she was to have minor surgery. While doing the final blood work they found the Leukemia. I went to be with her in Florida until she passed on January 3. She was 13 years younger than me.

We are looking again for a house in France or Italy.  I have mixed feelings about that. I am a lot older and less able than I was in 2010. I do miss so many things that we did then. We will see what comes.

My grandchildren are grown now and they would come to visit for sure. three of them have a fondness for the area.

We will see what tomorrow brings.
